This report is an overview of the activities of GAMCOTRAP for the year 2006. The report creates awareness of readers about FGM and VAW as well as build alliances and networking within the Gambia and beyond.

Since 1984 the Gambia Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of Women and Children (GAMCOTRAP) has been in the forefront advocating for the elimination of FGM in the Gambia.

This year 2008 has been very fruitful in fulfilling the targets set. The report highlights activities undertaken and implemented in 2008.

This report is on celebration of the second public declaration by 60 circumcisers and 351 communities from the sentral and upper river regions the Gambia.
